Having worked with many clients over the years we have compiled a few of our most recent case studies in order to exhibit the work we do.

Transition Information Management

FBM worked with a company going through a delicate transition phase of externalisation. We helped ensure a smooth transition by:
  • Setting up and managing processes to control, evaluate and report on the transition information flow.
  • Training 'gatekeepers' (Managers in control of confidential information provision) in the Transition Information Process.
  • Ensuring adherence to the European Merger Regulations, specific public sector procurement Law and bespoke Rules of Engagement.
  • Post-transfer, working across companies to set-up and manage the overall completion accounts review process to ensure rapid responses in the provision of concise and timely information in a confidential and auditable manner.

IT System Post Implementation Support

Following the decision to use an online collaborative information exchange tool FBM were responsible for:
  • Developing Document control policies and procedures - leading to successfully achieving ISO 9001.
  • Creating / maintaining documentation and training staff.
  • Providing support to company users.
  • Liaising with the provider to improve the system.
  • Managing user groups and access requirements.

Promotion Coaching

During January 2005 there were some changes within an organisation which included the departure of a key manager. The member of staff below was subsequently promoted into the role and, although there was no doubt that he had the aptitude to carry out the new role, there was concern over his ability and skill level to cope with the change to his workload and the workstyle required to accompany it.
Changes meant:

- he now had reduced support as his manager was no longer around and he frequently had to report to the board.

- he became responsible for a team, which included completing PDRs, dealing with staff issues, identifying and managing recruitment needs as well as managing the workload.

- Coaching was chosen by the head of HR because coaches add help, support and encouragement to create positive results. they provide a service for people to discuss issues or challenges in confidentiality and to examine their options as they explore their development' (Fiona Harrold, UK Life Coach).

Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity Project

FBM worked with a major client to develop Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity Plans. This meant that we:
  • Lead workshops to identify threats to business processes and gaps in existing risk mitigation.
  • Created key business documentation to assist in emergency preparedness
    • Business Plan which set out the general plan structure & content of the business emergency plans, including who is responsible for creating, maintaining and testing the plans.
    • Top Level Emergency Plan which set out arrangements for the overall management response to all business emergencies and sets down plans for alerting management and invoking other plans.
    • Business Resumption Plans which contain arrangements for resumption of business output where business emergencies interrupt it. In certain cases it may describe arrangements for maintaining continuous business output where adverse events threaten interruption.
    • Location emergency Plans which tell staff what to do, who to contact and where to go in the event of specific emergencies.
  • Set-up 3 Emergency Co-ordination Facilities across London equipped to manage operational or business emergencies.
  • Designed and delivered communication and validation workshops for the Facilities Location Emergency Plans.
  • Created and ran table-top exercises for directors and operational site location emergency plans.
